City Sightseeing

City Sightseeing’s bright red boats and buses offer visitors a fool-proof way to travel around Amsterdam. You can choose between tickets for the bus only, the boats only, or both the bus and the boats, and tickets are valid for either 24 or 48 hours. Buses and boats are equipped with WiFi and audio commentary in several languages, so you can arrive at your destinations equipped with fun new facts about the city!

Green Line (Boat)

This route takes you down the Herengracht and the Prinsengracht, before heading out through the Nieuwe Herengracht to the National Maritime Museum. Along the way you’ll stop at the NEMO Science Museum, Gassan Diamonds, the Golden Bend, the Hermitage Museum and more, with 10 stops in total. Boats depart every 40 minutes from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and are fitted with GPS commentary systems in 18 languages. The full loop takes approximately two hours and twenty minutes.

Blue Line (Boat)

This 8-stop route heads across the A’Dam Lookout before covering a loop of the Prinsengracht and the Keizersgracht. Stops include the Anne Frank Huis, Albert Cuyp Market, Rijksmuseum, and Westermarkt, before finishing its loop at Central Station West. Boats depart every 30 minutes from 9.30 am to 6 pm, and the full loop takes about an hour to complete. There is no Blue Line during the winter season, from November to March.

Red Line (Bus)

The Amsterdam hop-on hop-off bus route takes a large loop around the center of the city, due to the lack of wide streets, but that doesn’t mean you won’t see lots of important sights! It’s 11 stops include Gassan Diamonds, the Jewish Historical Quarter, the Heineken Experience, the Vondelpark, and Jordaan/Westerpark. Buses depart every 15 to 20 minutes from 9.15 am to 6 pm, and the full loop takes an hour and ten minutes to complete.

Stromma Bus & Boat

Stromma’s green and white buses and boats let you explore Amsterdam’s canals and streets. Both forms of transportation are equipped with audio commentary in 19 languages. Tickets are available for either the bus or the boat alone for either 24 or 48 hours, or you can choose the combined ticket for 24 or 48 hours, depending on your needs.

Boat Line

This 8-stop boat tour lets you enjoy the sights of the Prinsengracht, the Singelgracht, and the Herengracht, with the option to hop off at Rijksmuseum/Van Gogh Museum, the Vondelpark, the Maritime Museum, the A’Dam Lookout, and the Anne Frank Huis. Boats leave every 25 to 30 minutes. The service starts and stops at different times depending on the season and whether you’re visiting on a weekday or weekend.

Bus Line

The 11-stop bus route takes you on a tour around the outside of the Singelgracht, to places you can’t get to on the hop-on hop-off boat. You’ll see the NEMO Science Museum, the Heineken Museum, Rijksmuseum, Jordaan/Westerpark, and Priseneiland. Buses run every 30 minutes from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and the full loop takes about one hour and 15 minutes.
