Big Bus is an international expert on hop-on hop-off bus tours, with services in 22 cities around the world. Their maroon and gold buses offer two hop-on hop-off bus routes and a panoramic night route. The Classic ticket includes one day of access to the Day Tour plus a free walking tour. The Premium ticket includes one day of access to the Day Tour and walking tour, plus the Sausalito tour and an extra hour of bike rental. The Deluxe ticket includes two days of access to both hop-on hop-off lines, the walking tour, the free extra hour of bike rental, the night tour and a ticket to Madame Tussauds San Francisco. Combination packages including Alcatraz tickets and day trips to Muir Woods are also available.

Day Tour

The 17-stop Red Route takes you to all the major sights in San Francisco, from Chinatown past the Ferry Building, to Union Square and Haight Ashbury, around to Lombard Street, Pier 39, and the Golden Gate Park. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes from 9 am to 5 pm and the full route takes about two hours and 20 minutes to complete. This route has an English-speaking guide or you can listen to pre-recorded commentary in 10 languages.

Sausalito Tour

The Green Route is included in Premium and Deluxe tickets and takes you over the Golden Gate Bridge to the artsy town of Sausalito. The tour has three stops, and departs every 15 to 30 minutes from 10.15 am to 4.30 pm. The full circuit takes an hour and a half to complete. You can join the tour from Stop 11 of the Day Tour/Red Route (North Vista Point/Golden Gate Bridge), and enjoy the commentary in English from a live guide.

Night Tour

This panoramic tour leaves from the Big Bus Tours Visitors' Center at 99 Jefferson Street daily at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm. It loops past Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the Financial District before crossing the Bay Bridge to Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island. The full tour takes an hour. Since seats on the tour are filled on a first-come-first-served basis, it’s recommended that you arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to ensure you get a spot.

Walking Tour

All Big Bus tickets include a complimentary walking tour of Chinatown, led by an expert guide. The tour leaves from Stop 6 (Hilton Hotel) every day at 1 pm, and additionally at 11 am from April to October. The tour takes about one hour and is available in English only.
